As a newbie in the shapewear business we pride ourselves as being the only British brand to make shapewear for ethnic skin tones, which can be doubled up as outerwear to match with the latest trends and worn for athleisure. Recently, we have seen a surge of interest for our camisole vest and bodysuit shapewear, to aid with the recovery from Masitis.
*The Covet collection was born out of a eureka moment from Nzinga Graham-Smith (Queen of the Crop’s Founder/Creative Director) that arose in 2010 after the birth of her first child.
*Covet shapewear collection’s first production arrives after years of testing, trial and errors, lack of sleep and social life. But it was all worth it!
*Queen of the Crop participated in our first Fashion Week and received great press reviews.
*Partnered with breast cancer awareness charity Coppafeel! for their Brahijack campaign to by adding ‘Boob Checker’ reminder tags on all our Covet shapewear to show women how to check their breasts if they have any concerns.
*The first export of Covet shapewear was to Italy to retailers in Bari, Termoli and Flero, and received press recognition in the Chambers of Commerce.
*Covet was used at New York Fashion Week in Dennis Basso’s couture catwalk show with receptive reviews.
*Queen of the Crop’s Covet collection was featured in Underlines magazines July 2016 edition as the ‘Shapewear brand to watch for 2016’.
*Successful new revamped website launched with 30% off all Covet shapewear given to our valuable customers, generated prosperous interest and feedback!
*2018 – Future – Queen of the Crop will improve and expand its shapewear and undergarments line, develop partnerships and ultimately establish itself as a lifestyle brand, whilst creating a growing movement of women worldwide who live the Queen of the Crop lifestyle of self-expression, success, style, courage and beauty, with a sense of well-being.
Nzinga Graham-Smith is a mother of 2 girls from Birmingham, UK, and the founder and Creative Director of Queen of the Crop.
She has a passion for business and self-development, especially supporting women and young people, and provides consultancy in estate and finance planning and management services based on inner self growth and business development to help kick-start and manage individuals’ personal, career and business goals. She has also developed and taught PR, marketing, business, and confidence building workshops to young people from deprived areas and in gangs on how to channel their street skills in to business or higher education and being a positive role model.
In her early career Nzinga worked as a commercial lettings agent, senior administrator, publicist and event planner in the music and entertainment industry, and devised successful comedy and entertainment shows in theatres throughout the UK in such places as The Savoy and Alexandra theatre for some of the up-and- coming and biggest comedians and entertainers.
Nzinga enjoys giving back to others, making money, reading, networking, visiting new places and experiencing new things, spa treatments, going to the gym, cooking, eating-out, watching sports (tennis and football), going to music and entertainment events and having fun in life!
